Lemonade Date

It's been a hot minute.

Let's have lemonade instead of coffee, coffee makes me feel like I'm going to die of heat stroke. Just being honest.

How are you? Where are you? And I'm so sorry...

My bad, I sometimes slip into speaking the lyrics of 90's boy band songs in conversation. Don't count on me, I'll do it again.

Have I mentioned my weakness for 90's boy bands? Blink 182, Sum 41, Bowling For Soup, 98 Degrees, Lit, New Kids On The Block... I've got a problem.

Anyway, I hope all is well. I hope you are happy, and air-conditioned. I hope you are healthy and content. I hope you're blessed and loved. I hope you're tested and taught. I hope you're having adventures.

Let's get down to the nitty gritty. Here are the most noteworthy changes that have taken place since we last sat down for a talk...

1. My midsection is 50,000 times larger than it was a few weeks ago. Literally. Don't ask questions, just believe.

2. My midsection is actually only a few inches larger, but I sometimes feel like I could be a float at the Macy's Day Parade.

A note on that point, I've thankfully been blessed to be able to continue exercising throughout the pregnancy and by some miracle I've maintained a pretty good diet besides a couple milkshake splurges we'll choose to overlook. Fries may have been present. Moving on. That being said - I'm not exactly the size of a barge, but comparatively speaking - I feel full. I feel large and a tad bit obtrusive. When I say those things though, I inevitably get a bevy of replies assuring me that I've lost my mind or I'm a moron for feeling that way, just insert your own "girl-shut-up" comment...

Don't tell me I'm crazy, dude.

I spit on my own stomach instead of hitting the sink when I was brushing my teeth. Think about that for a moment please.

I knocked a kid in the back of the head with my belly while I was shooting a wedding.

I routinely run into door frames with my bump.

I got stuck between two cars because I thought I could slip through without having to walk the perimeter of the entire parking lot to reach my destination. I was wrong.

3. I have a new favorite air freshener, I love citrus smells and this stuff is amazing. Yes, this makes my list of noteworthy happenings. Don't ask questions, go smell the stuff and you'll understand.

4. I've repainted my house, is that nesting? Call it what you will, I was over brown and I got a painting bug. And then I got a hang things on the wall bug. That's when I got a wash laundry bug, which unfortunately didn't function as a catalyst for my fold laundry bug. I have a lot of laundry to fold. Then I got a try to paint with watercolors bug, that one was not a huge success. Oh well.

Speaking of hanging things on the wall though, this is what I've been using to hang guitars (we have a ton of guitars, Brad's plus mine we're somewhere in the neighborhood of 10...) It's way cheaper than the hangers you get from music stores and just as effective. Check it.

Just back it with a block of wood and you've got a guitar mount. Sweet nuggets.

5. The bulk of my time at this point is being spent building a photography portfolio and working the kinks out of my website. I'm launching a business with Brad's help and although I really enjoy it I have to say - when you do it right, it requires an insane amount of work and attention to detail. If anyone wondered, my forte is not in detail work. This is good for me.

6. Baby showers are also taking up some time, baby showers are fun....mainly because they remind me that I'm having a baby. A squishy, chubby, snuggly, little peanut. Correction...

My squishy, chubby, snuggly little peanut. Amen.
